How do I pair with my partner's phone?
Install TripCull on both phones. On one phone tap Pair a device -- it shows a code. On the other phone tap Pair a device, then Scan their code instead, and point the camera at the code. iPhones and Android phones can pair with each other.
How do I compare photos?
Tap Compare on your partner's phone card and choose the dates. On the other phone, tap Compare and scan the code. The phone showing the code sets the dates for both. Keep both apps open until the results appear.
Why did nothing show up on one phone?
That phone may not have photo access. Open Settings, find TripCull, allow access to photos, then compare again. Also check that the date range includes the days you took the photos.
How does TripCull pick the best shot?
It compares similar photos on sharpness and exposure, and favorites always win. When shots are about equally good, it marks them "Similar quality" and you decide which to keep.
Can TripCull delete photos on my partner's phone?
No. Each phone only ever deletes its own photos, and only after you select them and confirm. Deleted photos can be restored for 30 days -- from Recently Deleted on iPhone, or the trash on Android 11 and later.
Some of my iPhone photos weren't compared. Why?
If "Optimize iPhone Storage" is on, some photos are stored only in iCloud. TripCull never downloads them -- that would use your data and fill the phone it's trying to free up -- so it compares the copies already on your phone and tells you how many it skipped.
Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos are analyzed on each phone. The phones exchange only end-to-end encrypted summaries for matching. Read the TripCull privacy policy.
Do I need an account?
No. TripCull has no accounts or sign-in. Pairing with a code is all it takes.
